The Last Time You Traveled...
The last time you traveled to the future,
Did you remember to bring underwear?
It was too late by the time you got there,
For you had long since returned.
The last time you traveled to the future,
Did you buy a souvenir from next Thursday?
Did you leave a message in the sand
For future generations to discover as they passed?
The last time you traveled to the future,
Did you get there safely?
Bandits lie in wait on the roadside,
But by the time they saw you, you weren't there yet.
The last time you traveled to the future,
Had your love for me been reborn?
Did you carry it back in a bottle,
Or did it turn to dust on the journey?
"You know what, world? Go save yourself."
The Jackal's LiveJournal wasn't something you'd want to read under a shade tree on a sunny Spring day. To be fair, not many are, but it takes a special kind of emo to be shunned by the Landsville_Heroes group after receiving the key to the city. He hadn't objected, of course; at the time, he had excused himself with an overly alliterative "Take care, tights-wearing twats!" which, in retrospect, struck him as a rather poor choice of farewell note to the group who owed him a sum of $63.75, 5 coffees, 3 beers, and a life. The Teen Hero Squad was, however, at this moment not the cause of his woes.

To Dream, Perchance to Sleep..
White.
Empty.
A thousand people sleep, tranquil, isolated, alone.
Silent white snakes tunnel through the walls, passing life-giving oxygen to those barely alive.
A whisper of air.
The whirr of a fan.
No one makes a sound.
The glow of dark hallways, the radiance of shadowed rooms, the freedom of those oppressed by somnescence.
In this world, all are equal. All are equal, for all are nothing.
Ambitions exist only to fuel the deep, dark dreams of damned dark death.
The people have no future.
No past.
They only desire to continue their slumber, they only advance towards nothingness, towards oblivion.
A flash of lightning. A crack of

Twelve Angry Items
(fade in lights)
Scene:10 items or less line. 1 in front with 12 items; 2,3, & 4 behind, each with less than 10 items. Cashier is at register.
1: Darn. Forgot chewing gum. Oh, well.
Cashier: (counts items in 1's cart.) That's more than 10 items, sir.
1: So?
Cashier: This is the express line. 10 items or less, sir.
2: Come on, be nice. It's only a couple of items.
4: What are you saying? "Only a couple of items." ?! This guy's broken the rules; you should toss him out!
3: I agree he's guilty, but let's be fair.
(Cashier pulls out Game Boy and starts playing.)
2: Listen, this boy has been maligned all the wa
Stay away from any lurking grue.
Unless you are in sufficient light,
There's a good chance that they will eat you.
Exploring Zork, dark tunnels you pass through.
These caverns are sheathed in eternal night;
Stay away from any lurking grue.
No matter how much your sword will swing true-
No matter how well you put up a fight-
There's a good chance that they will eat you.
Zork was once a grand realm, it is true.
Yet it fell to some odd, unknown blight;
Stay away from any lurking grue.
There have been so many others who,
When entering Grues' hangouts, lit them bright-
There's a good chance that they will eat you.
Yet many others ha
if i could rhyme, i'd write you a love song
but that's not really my strong suit
i find it hard
writing in rhythm
linking words together
to tell you how i feel
if i could be the one
to hug you
every time you needed it
and even when you didn't
i would be
if i could show you
just some of the happiness
you make me feel
without even trying
i would
if i could be the one
the lips you wanted to kiss
just me
no one else
my lips would be yours
forever
if i could be your comfort
your strength
if hearing my voice
would brighten your day
i would be
if i could make you smile
just by thinking about me
and if that smile
